When you email or phone us
This website has no contact form. If you email or phone us, we use your name, contact details and anything you tell us to reply and to deal with your enquiry. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering enquiries or, where you ask us about work, taking steps at your request before entering into a contract. We keep this information only for as long as we need it for that purpose and for any work that follows.
Server logs
Like most websites, our web server records each request in a log: your IP address, the date and time, the page or file requested, the page that linked to it and your browser’s user agent. We use these logs to keep the site working and secure, which is our legitimate interest. They are deleted automatically after about two weeks.
Cloudflare
This website is delivered through Cloudflare, which protects it from attacks and helps pages load quickly. To do this Cloudflare processes your IP address and details of each request, and it may set a strictly necessary security cookie if it needs to check that traffic is genuine. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and available. Cloudflare may process this information outside the UK, with safeguards in place for international transfers. Google Analytics, only with your consent
If you choose “Accept all”, or switch on Analytics under “Manage choices”, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site: which pages are viewed, the town or region visitors are in, the type of device and browser, and how they found the site. We use this only to improve the website. Google Analytics does not load, and sets no cookies, unless you agree. Google signals and ad personalisation are switched off, and we do not use the information for advertising.
Our legal basis is your consent, under the UK GDPR and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations. You can withdraw it at any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of any page; when you do, the Google Analytics cookies are deleted from your browser. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a refusal and Google Analytics stays off.
